Cleaning a 325,000 Gallon Tank

First Environmental Nationwide was called on by a client to clean a tank that contained a petroleum by-product. Due to an immediate tank inspection, our rotating five man crew worked five, extremely labor intensive, eighteen hour days, using hydro blasters and vacuum trucks to remove the by-product. The by-product was then stored in vacuum boxes where it was delivered to an offsite disposal facility. The 325,000 gallon tank had a foot of sludge on the floor and ¾” thick coating on the walls that was to be removed to the bare metal for the inspection. Existing for our customers by fixing their problems is what First Environmental Nationwide stands for.

Emergency Response to a Fire

Fire Water Recovery

First Environmental Nationwide’s emergency response team received a call to contain / manage fire water run-off from an impending fire. Any contact by the extinguishing water to any product, chemical, or newly exposed tank, drum, pit, etc, or to any chemical or to potentially any exterior or interior surface of the building does in turn cause contamination of the water. Subsequently, anything that the water touches would be contaminated and possibly hazardous, increasing exposure to liability.

Containment ponds were constructed and frac tanks and vacuum boxes were used to keep water from migration offsite. Over a two day period, our emergency response crews removed the water via vacuum trucks. After project completion, contaminated soil was then removed from the pond’s floor and disposed of offsite. As a result of the quick and continual response and great team work from both emergency management and our client, FENs emergency response crew was able to keep liability to a minimum and prevent offsite contamination.
